Pashupati Nath Koirala

Pashupati Nath Koirala is a well-known professional in the forestry sector, with over three decades of experience in forest and natural resources management. He has held several key leadership roles, most notably as the Joint Secretary at Nepal's Ministry of Forests and Environment and the Province Secretary of the Ministry of Forests, Environment, and Soil Conservation in Lumbini. Pashupati holds a Master of Science degree in Forest and Nature Conservation from Wageningen University,  Netherlands. He also earned a Master of Sociology and a Bachelor of Law from Tribhuvan University in Nepal. 

Throughout his extensive career, Pashupati has contributed significantly to various high-impact projects, particularly in the realm of forest management and climate change adaptation. His involvement in the REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) readiness programs demonstrates his commitment to integrating global environmental frameworks with local contexts. He has been instrumental in both policy development and the practical implementation of strategies aimed at mitigating the adverse effects of climate change.

Currently, Pashupati is focused on promoting urban resilience through nature-based solutions. He is a strong advocate for using nature as a tool to combat the climate crisis and emphasizes the importance of changing individual behavior to foster environmental sustainability. His vision is centered on urban greenery and the belief that sustainable urban development is key to addressing climate challenges.
