Conservation Nepal Fellowship 2024
Conservation Nepal invites applications for Conservation Nepal Fellowship 2024 from highly motivated and enthusiastic students majoring forestry, zoology, botany, environmental science and other related fields to carryout undergraduate/graduate research. The purpose of this grant is to support early-career researchers who are interested in conducting studies focused on grassland ecology and the species these ecosystems support. CN has been conducting the long term ecological research on Hog deer and Bengal Florican at Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve and other grasslands in Nepal.
This fellowship program will support CN’s long-term ecological research. Selected individuals will have the opportunity to develop their thesis within framework of long-term ecological survey guideline/protocal for the partial fulfillment of their academic degree as part of this research.

Eligibility
- Undergraduate or graduate students in their final year who are undertaking research as partial fulfillment of their degree as required by their academic program.
- An individual who is prepared to work in challenging conditions. The role requires active participation in data collection from field sites, often involving exposure to environmental hardships.
Priority will be given to female applicants and individuals from underrepresented groups.
Selected students will be required to conduct field data collection for given projects for a minimum of 15 days. They should compile, organize, and report collected data to Conservation Nepal. Students may develop their own thesis/project report based on the available data. Conservation Nepal retains dual ownership on data. After the successful defense of their thesis/project at their respective universities, individuals are required to submit a copy of their final thesis/project to Conservation Nepal for its records. In addition, they should maintain regular communication with CN’s research team and should adhere to fieldwork protocols and safety guidelines provided by Conservation Nepal and

- Statement of Interest (Explain why you are interested in this opportunity, including your feasibility to undertake the research and your commitment to the project)
- A technical Concept Note (maximum three pages): Provide a general overview of the research you plan to conduct, including the following contents:
- Title/Rationale (explain the significance and purpose of the research)
- Objectives
- Methods (describe the methodology you intend to use)
- An updated CV
- Letter of Recommendation: A letter from your academic supervisor supporting your application
